Meditation: Entering the Give-and-Take Field of Healing Energy

What if man had learned to control fire before the ice age? Would there have been an Ice Age? With this thought, we acknowledge the power of the flame. Human history revolves around the sun's warmth, and the control of fire. The flame of the sun is part of man's evolution, and our continuing evolution is part of the flame.

We are often very sophisticated as we embrace the use of the flame's simple light and heat as well as vast amounts of energy stored within its energy field. Following the instructions below, let us look now into the simple reflection of the flame to realize its depth and role in our lives.

With ringing bell, warmth appears. A sighing AH! To Sound. Embraced by space. Alive. Cleansing every cell.

Significance of the fire — The fire appearing in the meditator's solar plexus represents the fire manifesting within each of us as will power, concentration, or motivation. In the Yogic tradition, fire is one of five subtle elements (along with earth, water, air and space), each of which is associated with a particular energy center or chakra. Fire, the element of the third chakra, manifests in our bodies as sight and as the "digestive fire." The flame represents the awareness that is the thread unifying all acts of creation. In awareness is energy, so concentrating on the flame energizes and strengthens the mind.

Introduction to Anchoring Yourself

[1] FIRE MEDITATION

Please read these instructions and then click the fire icon below for FIRE MEDITATION.

  • When you click the fire icon, you will see our original image of the seated figure and the inner flame — the image will take a moment to load. Please gaze at the fire without straining. Let your seeing guide you to open to the fire.

  • Allow yourself to see the fire image as you also feel the fiery nature of your concentration, that innervated fire between the two eyebrows. Opening human interaction to the elemental field of energy is part of our creative and ancient alchemical heritage.

  • Let the external fire image "speak" to your own quiet alertness as you conjoin your attention with the fire object. This mysterious communication transforms the relationship of outer and inner fire into understanding the Source of one's Being is only the One Unified field of Energy.

Significance of flowing waterThe sound of flowing water symbolizes the flow of creative energy in Nature and within ourselves in the form of the water element. Associated with the second chakra, the water element involves renewal and creativity and manifests as the ability to flow emotionally, letting go of the past. Just as water cleanses and nourishes the earth, the water element manifests in our bodies through fluids such as blood and lymph, which transport nutrients into the cells and wash away toxins. Focusing on the water encourages us to open to life’s give-and-take, with flexibility to accept change.

[2] WATER MEDITATION

Significance of the ringing bell — The sound of the bell cleanses the environment, drowning out noises and dissolving negative thoughts and words that may interfere with the meditator's concentration.
